Steers
- At grass (2nd grazing season): 0.9 kg/day or higher (Teagasc target).
- Dairy-beef steers (general targets): 1st grazing season: 0.7–0.8 kg/day, 1st winter: 0.6–0.7 kg/day, 2nd grazing season: 0.9–1.0+ kg/day
- Young beef animals (general): Can gain ~1 kg/day on good grass alone.
Heifers
- At grass (2nd season): 0.9 kg/day or higher (same as steers).
